Tokyo arrival and I am surprised

I did not know the Japanese drive on the opposite side of the road!!! I have no idea why this was not part of my "learning" but it was a big surprise. Really glad I'm not driving here. Saw two crashes on the way from the airport, which is about 90 minutes out of the city center. Saw lots and lots of solar panels, communication towers were creative (one looked like a pagoda!), plenty of bridges and there were not as many high rises as I had anticipated. Most of the apartment buildings are 3-10 stories and they all had balconies and outdoor staircases (building codes?)

My guide, Saeko, met me at the hotel and took me up to my very small room. She needed to show me how to use the toilet and shower! Lots to learn!

Too tired to go look for food so grabbed a snack at the 7-11 across the street and am getting ready for bed now (it's the middle of the night in CA/8:00pm in Tokyo).

Finally, I had some time on the 11 hour flight to make a few more cranes and am happy to report I have quite a few names written on them.
